AI Usage Tracker is a free browser extension that estimates how much active time and token usage you spend on ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini, along with rough environmental impact estimates. This page explains exactly what the extension does and does not do with your data.
The extension collects the following, only on chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai, and gemini.google.com:
All statistics (active time, estimated token counts) are stored locally in your browser using the standard chrome.storage.local API. This data never leaves your device, is never sent to jift.ai or any other server, and is fully deleted if you uninstall the extension.
We do not sell, rent, or transfer any user data to third parties. We do not use any data collected for purposes unrelated to the extension's single purpose (estimating your AI usage), and we do not use any data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.
The electricity and water usage figures shown in the extension are rough estimates based on published third-party research ratios, not measurements from OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. These figures can vary significantly (5–10x) depending on model size, hardware, and data center efficiency, and should be treated as ballpark approximations only.
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly.
